West Virginia Committee Holds July 24 Hearing on Workplace Bullying
The Joint Judiciary Subcommittee A of the West Virginia Legislature will hold a July 24 hearing on the topic of workplace bullying (introduced by Delegate Longstreth HB 3015) at the Capitol. Tuesday July 24, hearing beginning at 5 pm. All interested parties should (1) contact the WV State Coordinators through the WV State page at this website, and (2) assemble in the hall outside the meeting room (once inside, you will stand against the wall surrounding the seated committee members). This is the official home of the national grassroots legislative movement to enact the anti-bullying Healthy Workplace Bill. The HWB is the boldest proposed change to U.S. employment law in 40 years. We are a volunteer network of citizen activists working since 2002 in many states to pass the bill into law.
Current discrimination and harassment laws rarely address bullying concerns. Bullying is four times more prevalent than illegal discrimination, but is still legal in the U.S. People deserve more protection against arbitrary cruelty that has nothing to do with work.
